It was friday evening. I was enjoying a cup of tea with my co-workers at the plant. Suddenly I received an email. It was a mission. My teacher Teija had chosen me to write an article about Volvo trucks. Volvo trucks is one of the places me and my fellow student mates are going to visit on our excursion to Göteborg. I don't like to boast but she chose the right guy for the job. To be honest I could talk about cars all day long. So far I have owned 32 different kind of automobiles and there's no end in sight. Yes. I'm a true hardcore gearhead. Many people ask what's up with that cold ugly metal? Well I'm not sure of it even myself. It's just a way to get my kicks. It doesn't matter what kind of car it is I always find something fun about it and drive myself into a new adventure. To me automobile is like a bad girlfriend. She takes all your money, she's not very reliable, and when it's time to go, she changes her mind but It's sure fun to ride her.
So howabout Volvo? In fact I was introduced first time with this legendary brand last autumn. I was asked to service a 2001 Volvo S60. I instantly fell in love with the thing and now I drive a Volvo S80.
I'm always been a huge fan of american cars. The swedish made Volvo isn't that different afterall. When I cruise my '75 Dodge Dart it feels quite similar to my Volvo. Only Volvo is more reliable and economical of course. So I'm also a Volvo fan now.
When I was 18. My first job was to drive a lorry. It was not a Volvo but a Scania. As an yank tank fan bigger is better for me. So trucks are also close to my heart. I just love the idea of an 12 litre diesel V8 lumbering under my seat. One day I'm going to build a truck rod all by myself so I'm really interested to see how they make these everlasting workhorses from scratch. I might have some kickass ideas for them so stay tuned for the final article.
To be concluded....
